Created by husband and wife team Brendan Curnyn and Molly Curnyn, both self taught chefs with a passion for food. CheeseSmith was born in 2018 as a food truck and quickly became Wilmingtons most loved food truck. In 2020 the couple transformed the concept into a brick & mortar restaurant and retired the food truck entirely.
CheeseSmith’s focus is taking a nostalgic item, the grilled cheese, and giving it a creative transformation into many different curated flavor profiles. The couple has an extensive background in more fine dining focused restaurants and spent a large period of their working career as crew on motor yachts around the world. Everything they do at CheeseSmith has a little bit of an elevated touch involved without being intimidating, their housemade tomato jam recipe started it all and it’s one of the many recipes that had people instantly hooked on CheeseSmith.
